A Watch Winder or a Spinner ? Not all watch winders are created or manufactured equal. There are certain heavily advertised lower priced "Automatic watch winders" on the market which are, in essence, simply an ordinary watch storage box with a low quality motor device attaches to it. These "spinner" gadgets should not be classified as "Automatic Watch Winders". These gadgets simply "spin" your watches non-stop (some would supply with an external timer to haul the spinning, or you have to manually turn off the device yourself). While these low quality "watch winder spinners" could serve the purpose initially, be aware that continuous use of these non-stop "spinners" will cause undue stress on your watch's internal mainsprings, and exert unnecessary torque pressure on the moving mechanism of your watch. All these would lead to loss of accuracy of your watches, causing the internal lubrication of the watch movement worn out much faster, and would very likely shorten the useable life of your watches. Continuous use of these "winding spinners" could result in servicing or over-haul of your watches much sooner than normal. So the small amount of initial cost you saved on purchasing these cheap "winding spinners" will end up costing you much more, in addition to the possible damage caused to your fine watches, and the risk of shortening the useful life of your watches. A REAL Automatic Watch Winder.... A real Automatic Watch Winder should not turn the watch non-stop. An Automatic Watch Winder should have an internal factory designed electronic program to provide rotation movement in a periodic "turn-and-rest" cycle, not in a continuous non-stop motion. This turn-and-rest turning cycle is essential to maintain the useable life of your watches, and to reduce torque stress to the watches' delicate internal movement mechanism. All our watch winders come with this "turn-and-rest" program, so that your watch can be fully wound up, without the adverse effects caused by those non-stop spinner winders. This unique "turn-and-rest" program will rotate your watches in the selected direction (clockwise, counter-clockwise, or alternate) for a period of time, then rest for a period of time and resume turning again. This turn-and-rest cycle will repeat itself automatically without the need of any external timer of human intervention. All programs are factory setted and will be automatically engaged. Thus the risk associates with non-stop turning of your watches will be eliminated, so as to maintain the useful life of your watches. Automatic Watches and Automatic Watch Winders.... Also, different brands of watches require different turning direction. For example, Rolex and some Tag Heuer watches are best to be wind-up in the "Alternate" manner: turn clockwise and counter-clockwise alternately, then stop for a period of time and resume alternate turning again. This cycle should spread out during the day in a pre-designated factory designed program. While other Tag Heuer watches needed to be wind-up in the clockwise direction; and certain brands require winding in the counter-clockwise direction. Also, different models under the same brand, Chopard for example, might require winding in different directions. So a REAL automatic watch winder should be able to turn in both clockwise and counter-clockwise direction. Ideally, it could also be able to turn "Alternatively" (clockwise then counter-clockwise). So that no matter what brands of watches you have now, or in the future, your watch winder could fit the winding requirements of different watches brands. Buyer Beware ! It is regrettable that some un-knowledgeable manufacturers, trying to make a quick profit, rushed their low quality "spinner" device gadgets to the market that could eventually cause harm to your watches. If you invest in a fine watch, or a collection of fine automatic watches, it is strongly recommended not to use those non-stop "spinning" devices that call themselves "watch winders". Invest in a quality automatic watch winders like ours with electronic programming that provide a "fuzzy-logic" program, that will rotate your fine watches in the proper manner. Moreover, many of these lower quality copycat watchwinders are constructed using thin and untreated particle board, with inferior uneven plastic coating. While in photos they look similar to our high quality hand craft real oak wood watchwinders, the difference in quality and craftsmanship are obvious once they are placed side by side for comparison. Buy with confidence.... All our watch winders are thoroughly tested, precision designed and engineered to meet all watches' winding requirements. Our high quality, hand crafted, true automatic watch winders will fully wind up your fine watches, without the adverse effects that could compromise your watch's internal movements.
